Akhilesh Yadav Akhilesh Yadav, born on 1 July 1973, is an Indian politician and the President of the Samajwadi Party. He served as the 20th Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 2012 to 2017, becoming the youngest person to hold the office at the age of 38. Yadav's tenure as Chief Minister was marked by efforts to modernize the state’s infrastructure, improve education and health services, and promote economic development. His government launched several ambitious projects, including the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and the Lucknow Metro. Born into a political family, Akhilesh is the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the Samajwadi Party. He holds degrees in civil engineering and environmental engineering from universities in India and Australia. As a leader, Akhilesh is known for his youth-centric approach and has been a vocal advocate for digital governance and technological advancements in rural areas.
